SUMMARY:March meeting of the Blofield & District Gardening Club
DESCRIPTION:Our next meeting is on Wednesday evening\, 12th March (7:30 pm) at The Margaret Harker Hall in Blofield.  The full programme of talks for the year will be disclosed plus the schedule for the Club’s Summer Show in July.  Light refreshments plus a gardening demo and a quiz will be offered after the meeting.  This meeting is free and open to all – do please come along to see what is being planned. \nOn Wednesday evening\, 9th April (7:30 pm) we are very pleased to welcome Simon White from Peter Beales Roses\, Attleborough\, to speak about “Highlights of Chelsea and Hampton Court Shows”.  The company has very successfully competed at these important events\, and Simon will discuss and illustrate their award-winning entries.  All very welcome to the talk – members free\, visitors £2:50 which includes light refreshment.  Queries to (01603) 715804.  Website: www.blofieldgardeningclub.org.uk

SUMMARY:Companion Planting for a Balanced Garden
DESCRIPTION:At our March meeting well known speaker Dr Ian Bedford\, formerly of the John Innes Institute\, will explain the concepts of Companion Planting and whether we can expect to see results when it's used. Besides using plants to help other plants\, many plants are also reported to have properties that can either attract or repel bugs. The talk details some of them and how they can be used in our gardens to create a natural balance system for attracting nature and keeping the pests under control.
