At our Summer Show within the Royal Norfolk Show

An opportunity for children up to age 11 to take part in a free competition to grow cress in a decorated egg shell, displayed in the base of an egg box. The box can be decorated as well, if you wish. Two classes – up to age 8 and age 8 to 11.
Come along to our spring show between 10am and 4pm on Sunday 12 April 2026 at St Faiths Centre, Horsham St Faiths, Norwich, NR10 3LF and pick up some Greek Cress seeds, generously sponsored by Nurtured in Norfolk.
Instructions on how to create a Cress Head – note that Greek Cress takes about 14 days to germinate on a windowsill and another 5-7 days to be ready. Cover your eggshell with cling film to keep it damp until germination has taken place. Keep damp to prevent it drying out.

The entries will be judged by visitors to the Garden Village and the winners will receive a certificate.
