Monthly Meeting – Pruning Through the Seasons

Our speaker this month is Bob Coutts, retired head gardener of the 12 acre Somerleyton Hall gardens. Bob will be giving a practical demonstration on how to prune your shrubs, roses and trees in your garden throughout the gardening year. Bob will not only tell how to do this pruning, but also the when and why you should prune. The talk will also include the best tools to use for the job. So come along and learn from an expert how to keep your garden in good health all through the year.

How to grow Vegetables for exhibition – Part 2

One of our most experienced members in vegetable growing will talk about and give guidance on growing vegetables for exhibition.  Session open to society members and members of our affiliated societies, free of charge. This is the second of three sessions.  No requirement to attend all sessions - each one will concentrate on action at the actual time of the session. This will take place in the Norwich area, to the west of the city.  Please contact the general secretary if you wish to take part.

Summer Show

Our summer show will take place within the Garden Village at the Royal Norfolk Show and feature cut flowers, pot plants, vegetables and fruit.  Norwich Group of Flower Clubs organise the floral art exhibits alongside our show. Entry to our show is open to all.  Please see separate Show pages. Visitors need to purchase a ticket to the Royal Norfolk Show.

Annual Flower Show

Holme Hale Pavilion School Road, Holme Hale

With over 200 entries across 11 flower classes, plus crafts, photography and home baking classes this is a show not to miss! The show is open to the general public from 2.00pm to 4.30pm. In addition to the floral entries there will be a quality plant sale and tombola prizes. Refreshments will be served, including delicious home made cakes. So come along and support your local garden club for a lovely afternoon enjoying floral beauty and good company

Redisham Hall Garden Visit

Members, affiliated society members and their guests are invited to join us on a private afternoon visit to the gardens at Redisham Hall Nurseries. As well as the Walled kitchen garden you will be able to enjoy the Herbaceous borders, Lawns, Shrubberies, Woodland garden, Ha-Ha wall, ponds, Arboretum & Mature trees. Followed by tea & cake in the Nursery Tearoom. £12 per person for members & affiliated society members, £15 for non-member guests. Holiday to RHS Bridgewater & Tatton Park Flower Show

Our holiday with Avanti Coach Travel in 2024 will include visits to RHS Bridgewater and RHS Flower Show Tatton Park. The full itinerary, timings  and costs have been sent to those booked on the holiday. We will be staying at the Best Western Hotel Frodsham, four nights dinner, bed and breakfast. Members and affiliated society members only.  This holiday is fully booked and has a waiting list.

Early Autumn Show

The Costessey Centre Longwater Lane, Costessey

Our early autumn show will feature Dahlias, cut flowers, pot plants, vegetables and fruit. Advice and information.  Second-hand gardening books for sale.  Refreshments available. All welcome.  Free admission, donations welcome.
