Royal Norfolk Show Flower Arrangement Competition


Entry Classes

Open to any flower club or horticultural society
Staged by 2-3 Club members.

An exhibit to be staged on a round 120cm diameter base provided and raised approx.10cm from ground. Own covering and skirt to be provided. Height optional. To be viewed and judge all round. (See Regulation 10 re height)


A pedestal exhibit. Space allowed: width 120cm; depth 120cm. Own base optional. To be viewed and judged from the front. Background grey. Height optional. (See Regulation 10 re height)


Can be wired or tied and use of glue is acceptable. Materials can be fresh or dried and can include accessories.  Please include a picture of the Sports Celebrity.  Space allowed 50cm width x 80cm depth. No height restriction. Staged on tabling, 65cm from ground, staging grey. Please supply own display stand/material.
This Class will be judged under Society of Floristry Rules (a copy of marking sheet is available from the Floral Art Co-ordinator).

Space allowed - width 50cm x depth 10cm x height 30cm.  Viewed and judged from the front.

Regulations

1. The judges' decisions shall be final, unless a protest in writing against a decision by them be lodged with the Floral Art Co-ordinator by 2pm on the day of judging.

2. STAGING TIMES Club Class may be staged from 1pm and other Classes from 2pm on Tuesday 25 June 2024. The marquee must be vacated by 8pm on Tuesday.

3. Exhibits MUST NOT be removed before show closure on Thursday.

4. Nothing may be attached to the staging background.  All exhibits to be viewed and judged from the front unless otherwise stated.

5. An exhibitor may place only one entry in each class.

6. Entries will be accepted on a first come first served basis depending on the

availability of space. All entries will be confirmed by NNHS by email.

7. All exhibits and exhibitors’ property will be at the risk of the exhibitor. The

NNHS and the RNAA cannot be held responsible in any way for any loss or

damage sustained by the exhibitor.

8. Exhibitors’ cards MUST be collected from the Floral Art Co-ordinators and

displayed face down on the exhibit prior to judging.

9. All exhibits must be the unaided work of the competitor(s) and must be

assembled in the marquee with the exception of Classes F3, F6,which may be submitted already assembled.

10. ALL MEASUREMENTS GIVEN ARE APPROXIMATE. All exhibits in Classes F1-F6, with the exception of Class F3, to be judged in accordance with the NAFAS Competitions Manual 4th Edition 2023*. (See manual for rules on pre prepared work that is included in designs).

Exhibitors in Class F1 & F2 should be aware that the height of the marquee wall is 2.75 metres after which height could be restricted.

11. Aerosol sprays MUST NOT be used in the marquee.

12. Novices may enter any class but the NOVICE CLASS is open only to competitors who have never won a First Prize in Flower Arranging Classes at any NNHS or NAFAS Show.

13. The Club Class (F1) is not eligible for Best-in-Show Award.

14. ALL RUBBISH TO BE REMOVED BY THE EXHIBITOR(S).

15.  Access to the showground is via the King George VI Gate in the bus layby on Dereham Road, Norwich, NR5 0TT.  Help may be available with trolleys to transport items to the marquee.  DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR ONTO THE SHOWGROUND.  Please do not arrive early.

Book tokens will be awarded to the winners of the two age categories in Class F6a and F6b (Junior Class) - these are 'Under 12' and '12 to 16'.

Prize money and awards will be presented in the Marquee at 4.00pm on Thursday 27 June:

Tickets: With the possible exception of Class F6, each exhibitor will receive one ticket for entry into the Showground together with a car park pass. [Further entrance tickets to the Show can be obtained from the Royal Norfolk Show website (see local Press for details).]  A car park pass will be available for those delivering and collecting exhibits in Classes F6a & b.
