Royal Norfolk Show Flower Arrangement Competition


Entry Classes

Open to any flower club or horticultural society.  Staged by a maximum of three competitors.

An exhibit to be staged on a round. 120cm diameter base provided and raised approx.10cm from ground. Own covering allowed. Height optional.  Viewed all round and judged from the front.

An exhibit. Space allowed: width 120cm; depth 120cm, height optional. Staged on grass, own base is optional. Viewed and judged from the front. Staged by a maximum of two competitors.

Foam-free class.  Space allowed width 70cm, depth 80cm, height 120cm. Staged on tabling, 65cm from ground, covered in grey fabric against the marquee. Viewed and judged from the front.  No type of floral foam or substitute allowed.


An exhibit to incorporate Wellington boots. Space allowed: width 70cm; depth 80cm; height optional. Staged on tabling 65cm from ground, covered in grey fabric against the marquee.  Viewed and judged from the front.


Petite exhibit. Space allowed: width 25cm; depth 25cm; height 37cm. Staged on tabling 65cm from ground, covered in grey fabric.  Viewed and judged all round and from above.


An exhibit to be titled. Space allowed: width 65cm; depth 80cm; height 120cm. Open to exhibitors who have not achieved a 1st prize at a NAFAS Show.  Staged on tabling 65cm from the ground, covered in grey fabric against the marquee.  Viewed and judged from the front.


Regulations

1. Open to everyone.

2. A Novice is defined as a person who has not won a First Prize at a NAFAS judged show. A Floristry Student is a current student up to level 3.

3. All entries are classed as exhibits and judged in accordance with NAFAS Competitions Manual 4th Edition 2023 available from nafas.org.uk, except for Class 10 & 11 Floristry Classes. These classes will be judged under Society of Floristry Rules.

4. The judges’ decisions shall be final, unless a protest in writing against a decision by them be lodged with the Floral Art Co-ordinators by 2pm on the day of judging.

5. All exhibits must be the unaided work of the competitor(s) and must be assembled in the marquee with the exception of Classes 5, 7, 8, 9, 10 & 11, which may be submitted already assembled.

6. Aerosol sprays MUST NOT be used in the marquee

7. The organisers reserve the right to stage entries in the best way to maximise space. This may or may not be by the side of the marquee.

8. Only competitors allowed in the marquee during staging.

9. All exhibits and exhibitor’s property will be at the risk of the exhibitor and the NNHS & RNAA accepts NO liability whatsoever for loss or damage sustained by any exhibit or competitor or their property.

10. Exhibits MUST NOT be removed before show closure on Thursday.

Staging

1. Staging times: Club Class may be staged from 1pm and other Classes from 2pm on Tuesday 23 June 2026. The marquee must be vacated, and all rubbish cleared, by 8pm on Tuesday 23 June.

2. All measurements in the staging instructions are approximate.

3. All exhibits must be staged in the space provided.

4. Exhibitors’ cards must be collected from the Floral Art Co-ordinators and displayed face down on the exhibit prior to judging.

5. No photography during staging.

6. All rubbish to be removed by the exhibitor(s).

7.  Access to the showground is via the King George VI Gate in the bus layby on Dereham Road, Easton, Norwich, NR5 0TT.  Help may be available with trolleys to transport items to the marquee.  DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR ONTO THE SHOWGROUND.  Please do not arrive early.

19. The organisers reserve the right to stage entries in the best way to maximise space. This may or may not be at the side of the marquee.

Book tokens will be awarded to the winners of the two age categories in Class F8 and F9 (Junior Class) – these are ‘Under 12′ and ’12 to 16’.

Classes F2 to F7  1ST £8   2ND £5   3RD £3

Prize money and awards will be presented in the Marquee at 4.30pm on Thursday 26 June:

Tickets: each exhibitor will receive one car pass and one entry ticket except in classes F5, F7, F8 and F9.
